Chinese Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a  method of encouraging the body by moxibustion and inserting thin needles into the body at specific points to promote natural healing and to improve functioning, this is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points
Acupuncture theories
Basic acupuncture theory lies within the ancient philosophy of Taoism. The Taoists believed that the universe can be described by the dualistic concept of yin and yang. All matter is made of yin and yang, including every part of the human body. The concept of yin is described as that which is dark, cold, moist, yielding, negative in polarity and feminine. The concept of yang is described as that which is warm, dry, dominant, positive in polarity and masculine.
Although yin and yang are opposite in nature, it is their ability to interact and balance each other that creates a dynamic interplay what we can health. All diseases or conditions can be classified as either yin or yang in nature due to an imbalance of one or the other. An example of a yin disease would be a chronic, long-standing degenerative condition such as cancer. An example of a yang disease would be an acute condition of short duration such as flu or sore throat.

Chinese fashion and accessories

In the 1920s, the cheongsam underwent a change with the influence of western styles. The cuffs grew narrower and were usually trimmed with thin lace. The length of the dress was shortened as well. This new adaptation allowed the beauty of the female body to be fully displayed.
In the 1930s, wearing a cheongsam became a fashion among women in the whole China. Various styles existed during this period. Some were short. Some were long, with low, high or even no collars at all.
Starting from the 1940s, cheongsams became closer-fitting and more practical. In summer, women wore sleeveless dress. Cheongsams of this period were seldom adorned with patterns.
The cheongsam didn’t become standard female attire until the 1960s. Following western fashion, the tailors raised the hem, even to above the knee, so that the “long” was no longer long. In the west, during the sexual revolution of the 1960s, the style was deemed something oppressive, like the Victorian bodice.
In western popular culture, the cheongsam became synonymous with the 1960 movie character Suzie Wong and the sexual objectification of women.
The cheongsam goes mainstream
Today, with it’s varies of styles, the cheongsam shows its charm at many markets. More and more women in China appreciate its beauty. For instance, when wives of China’s diplomas attend important social gatherings, the cheongsam is their first choice among dress. In fact, quite a number of influential people have suggested that cheongsam should become the national dress for women in China. This shows that the cheongsam remains a vibrant part of Chinese culture.
Wearing a cheongsam nowadays has turned into something of a vogue, both at home and abroad. Due to its elegance and classical looks the cheongsam becomes a source of inspiration for fashion designers. World-renowned brands like CD (Christian Dior), Versace, and Ralph Lauren have all cited some cheongsam elements in their designs. Many foreign women are eager to get themselves a cheongsam should they visit China. Cheongsam is no longer a garment particular to Chinese women, but is adding to the vocabulary of beauty for women all over the world.

Chinese fashion and accessories-Cheongsam1

   Cheongsam
The cheongsam, or qipao, is the classic dress for Chinese women, which combines the elaborate elegance of Chinese tradition with unique elements of style. The high-necked, closed-collar cheongsam features a loose chest, asymmetrical fastening, fitted waist and side slits. To fans, the cheongsam encapsulates a woman’s modesty, softness and beauty. Designed to show off the natural softness of the female form, it also creates the illusion of long, slender legs.
   Legend of the cheongsam
Legend has it that a young fisherwoman lived by the Jingbo Lake, she was not only beautiful, but also clever and skillful. But when fishing , she often felt hindered by her long and loose fitting dress. Then an idea struck her: why not make a more practical dress for work? She got down to sewing and produced a long multi-looped-button gown with slits, which enabled her to tuck in the front piece of her dress, thus making her job much easier. As a fisherwoman, she never dreamed that a fortune would befall on her.
The young emperor who ruled China at that time had a dream one night. In the dream, his dead father told him that a lovely fisherwoman in cheongsam by the Jingbo Lake would become his queen. After awakening from his sleep, the emperor sent his men to look for hr. sure enough, there she was! So she became the queen, bringing her cheongsam with her. Manchu (one of the minorities in China) women all followed the suit and soon the cheongsam became popular.

   Cheongsam through the years
The cheongsam came from the Manchus who grew out of ancient Nuzhen tribes (one of famous tribes in Chinese history, which live in north China). In the early 17th century, Nurhachi (the ruler at that time), a great political and military strategist, unified the various Nuzhen tribes and set up the Eight Banners System. Over the years, a collarless, tube-shaped gown was developed, which was worn by both men and women. That is the embryo of qipao. The dress is called qipao in Chinese or translated as “banner gown”, for it came from the people who lived under the banner system.
The cheongsam became popular among ladies of the royal family in the Qing Dynasty (the last feudal dynasty in Chinese history). At that time, cheongsams were fitted loosely and were so long that they would reach the insteps. Usually, they were made of silk and the whole dress was embroidered, with broad lace trimmed at the collar, sleeves and edges.

Slight Love, Bright QiPao

In my impression, Qipao, it is the name of beauty, since the beginning of the season, Qipao melt in the Chinese culture and became the great ingredient among the long and gorgeous Chinese history. Qipao, with her gentle silk and elegant decoration pattern, showing the endless exquisite Chinese culture, and the charming of the ancient country.
The slight color, the light women, with the tiny paper umbrella passing thru the quiet season of March. I was always surprised by the excellent talent of those people in ancient time, but no more than the surprise and admire to their designers. The slight Chinese cheongsam has already become the feature and representative of the Chinese female, no matter where I was, only if I saw the elegant women with the slight Qipao, a touched moving will remember with affection from the deep in my heart. Under the slight Cheongsam, or Qipao, was the full-rich beauty of Chinese culture.
Can not control the love of Qipao, the May of this year, I hold the long desired Qipao with a pious attitude, the slight pattern , the fantastic manual work, once again I dropped into my imagination, in some where, dressing the pretty Qipao, with a pair of blue heel, stop on the rock road with some tiny moss, walking thru with the gentle movement, there were a great shadow fall down from the thick leaves of the old tree, standing on the bridge, with the shining smile I always had, I saw the maiden walking to me, swing with shining smile, yelled to me gently, I know, the magic of the ancient Chinese culture was spread already. Even the top grade jewelry cannot pass the noble and melodious of Qipao.
Floating clouds dancing with the gentle wind, blue sky whispering with the lake ripple, waving on a boat with my loved man, nestled close to his warm arm, listening the bright sounds made from the crack of paddle touched the water. My loved him tell me the romantic love stories, the gentle wind plucked his hair, with the faintly distant piano, this moment, just this moment, the soft picture, perhaps only dressing the Qipao can make it so appropriate.
When we walk to the world, do not forget the essence culture behind the flow of fragrant. The slight Qipao, but it reflects a deep sense of Chinese beauty. Not all the fashion and trends can be the best but only the oldest treasure after the long test of time. I love the Qipao dress, love the the feeling of touch, more love the beauty of China.

The History of Chinese Clothing

Talking about Traditonal Chinese Clothing, there are a lot of famous styles like Chinese Tang Suit, Chinese minority clothing, Han Dynasty clothing and recently the  Chinese Cheongsam.
With a long history above 5,000 years, Chinese people have a huge treasure about the creation and tradition opinions to the clothing.
At present, Chinese cheongsam is become more and more popular in and out of country, as the publicity of movies and advertises, the pretty Chinese cheongsam perfectly shade the body beauty, and the fashion design also shows the noble and gentle of who wear it.

Chinese cheongsam

Chinese cheongsam
Chinese cheongsam, also named Chinese qipao, was improved from one of the Chinese minority clothing. During the Republic of China (1912-1949), the Chinese women begun to wear this vintage style cheongsam, soon qipao or Chinese cheongsam became popular everywhere especially in Shanghai, China, one of the best developed city in Chine.
Generally speaking, the Chinese cheongsam or qipao is different from the original style, it is more char acted by the Chinese culture as well as the western clipping style. Rising from the 20 century, and popular in 1930-1940, Chinese cheongsam was almost disappeared since the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, fortunately the Chinese cheongsam became the tendency in recent years, especially in young ladies and Miss Etiquettes.
At that time, Shanghai China was a paradise land for rich women and social beauties, they were wild about the fashion and luscious life, on the other side, they leaded the fashion of the whole China. Cause of the history reason, Shanghai was one of the big cities with the harmony attitude to the alien culture and life style, so the improved Chinese cheongsam appeared with a great looking, from the traditional conservation style to the open and have a pretty line of body shape. The improved Chinese cheongsam totally rip off the old opinion, and become the special fashion clothing with the national elements.
One thing need to state is, the qipao or the Chinese cheongsam is not the stream clothing of China or the national clothing.
Most of qipao or Chinese cheongsam with the following featureson the right side it is open and connected with the special knot button, the 2 sides of the clothing is cut to 2 pieces , one piece of dress, the cutting is one of the features, not the must or necessary! The modern Chinese cheongsam combined more western elements like sleeveshape and other styles.
Wide ranged advertisement and the publicity of movies made the Chinese cheongsam become more and more popular today, and many of them treat the Chinese cheongsam as the national clothing thru It is not.
Since the 1990 s, women ideal image changed, Tall and slender, the ping hip figure for people to narrow the yearning. And as the most flattering to Chinese female figure and qualitative China fashion represents-Chinese dress, the once again drew attention of vision. Abroad, there are still a lot of great master of design for inspiration to cheongsam, launched international flavor of the Chinese dress, and even Chinese cheongsams and European evening dress, combined with product.
